AA International Ltd
can provide support to food security, natural resource anagement and rural development projects and programmes.

We can provide technical assistance and agricultural advice to on-going projects and programmes, either by answering specific questions sent to us online, or by providing a package of face-to-face technical support.

We can also provide support to projects and programmes in the form of monitoring, reviewing and evaluation:

Technical Assistance

The academic training and extensive field experience of our staff and associates mean that we are excellently qualified to offer technical assistance to a broad range of international agricultural and rural based projects, either on a short-term or long-term basis, online or face-to-face.

Our web based advisory service,
TechTalk, provides online technical assistance and agricultural advice in all aspects of farming, forestry, horticulture, marketing, management and processing, providing rapid answers to specific technical problems being faced on the ground.

Where a programme of more extensive support is required, we can also provide technical assistance through face-to-face consultancies, and will ensure delivery of a cost-effective programme of support and mentoring, specifically designed to fit the needs and circumstances of all stakeholders.

Monitoring, Reviewing and Evaluation

Monitoring, reviewing and evaluation are integral parts of good programme management and there are often occasions when independent observers are required to offer impartial opinions on events, activities, strategies and policies. AA International Ltd can conduct assessments to monitor and evaluate the effect of change on rural populations and their surroundings, whether this change is financial, technical, social or environmental, We understand that interactions between the farmer, his/her land and resources are often affected by a perception of risk, affecting the uptake of new technologies which, in turn, affects the outcome and impact of change.

We have particularly strong experience in international project evaluations. For example, via a framework contract, AA International Ltd has conducted mid-term and post-project evaluations of EC funded food security projects run by international NGOs (including Mercy Corps, CARE, GTZ, Action contract, Christian Aid and People in Need), FAO and WFP.  We have also conducted evaluations directly for Concern Worldwide and Oxfam GB.

We can offer Monitoring, Reviewing and Evaluation Services for a broad range of projects and programmes, based on relevance; objectivity; continuity; simplicity; and responsiveness. These include:-

  • Designing and installation of monitoring systems and training of operatives;
  • Conducting programme and project reviews, evaluations and impact assessments;
  • Organising and conduct of mid- and post-review workshops.
