Uno How's Farm Visits

AgriTechTalk has developed online learning courses in functional numeracy for professionals working in food and nutrition security.

The modules are cartoon based farm visits of a fictional extension agent called "Uno How" to two farmers, "Tad" and "Mim".The cartoons link to explanations, simple calculations and exercises, as well as lots of practical numeracy tips.

Our modules can be followed online or, if preferred, can be downloaded as pdfs for printing. The modules comprise of:

Module 1 (Visits 1- 4) - Calculating the area of your farm.
Module 2 (Visits 5 - 8) - Estimating seed inputs, fertiliser and spray requirements.
Module 3 (Visits 9 - 12) - Estimating crop production and storage requirements.
Module 4 (Visits 13 - 16) - Using Farm Products
Module 5 (Visits 17 - 20) - Farming as a business

Modules 1, 2 and 3 are available in Luo and Ngikarimojong (local Ugandan languages) and Modules 1 and 2 are also available in French.

Animations of Modules 1, 2 and 3 have also been produced.
