As Overseas Director for ACORD for almost 20 years, Peter James was responsible for innovative programme planning  and pilot programming throughout Africa. Concepts fostered under his leadership, ten years before they became mainstream, included:

• Gender awareness in both programme planning and staff recruitment;
• Process planning approaches;
• Decentralisation of management systems.

Currently, AA International Ltd is particularly interested in linking relief and rehabilitation programmes with fundamental concepts of literacy and numeracy.
